Pre-natal/Pregnancy massage has an important role to play as part of your pregnancy support strategy. Pregnant women often suffer from neck, shoulder, back, hip and foot pain due to hormonal changes and the increasing physical load.
Pregnancy massage is a gentle, relaxing massage that can be used safely throughout the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. It is a popular complementary therapy that can be used for back pain when choices for pain relief, such as medication, can be limited. From weeks 38 onwards there are specific techniques and pressure points we can stimulate which are meant to help with the induction of labour.
Pregnancy massage helps to alleviate tension and pain, relieves headaches, leg cramps, insomnia, fluid retention, stress and fatigue.

Improved circulation
Helps with fluid retention in the legs
Relieves tiredness and fatigue from the extra weight carried
Helps you to relax from the pressures of the pregnancy and gives you a bit of pampering before your baby arrives
Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage, also known as champissage, is a treatment that focuses on massaging acupressure points along the head, neck, and shoulders, often using circular massage strokes to improve hair and scalp condition.
It originates from an Indian alternative medicine system called Ayurveda, (translated as the ‘science of life’), whereby it is believed that the mind and body are intricately connected and thus can influence one another. Through this theory, is is understood that Indian head massage can not only reduce headaches and improve physical well-being, but it can also improve mental and emotional wellness too.
Sports/Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue/Sport Massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres. Using deep muscle compression and friction along the grain of the muscle, the purpose of deep tissue massage is to unstick the fibres of the muscles and release both toxins and deeply held tension points. Specific hand positions and strokes are used to respond to various tissues while breath and movement techniques are employed to release muscular congestion. It helps to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. It is both corrective and therapeutic. It is beneficial for many physical problems, including sports injuries and chronic pain.
